Co. Clare has been fortunate in securing a number of excellent new Loop Walks as part of the Shannon Trails/Failte Ireland initiative. There are three in East Clare and one in Mid Clare.
1. Ballycroum Loop - part of the Network of National Looped Walks -
Trailhead: Ballycroum Forest, Feakle, Co. Clare.
Dist/Time: 9km/2.5hours - 3 hours.
2. Ballycuggeran Loop - part of the network of Shannon Region Loop Walks -
Trailhead: Rinnaman Point (Two Mile Gate)
Dist/Time: 9km./2.5hours - 3 hours
3. Cahermurphy Loop - part of the network of Shannon Region Loop Walks
Trailhead: Cahermurphy Forest Car Park
Dist./Time: 9km/2.5hours - 3 hours
4. Dromore Wood - part of the National Looped Walks -
Trailhead: Dromore Wood, Ruan, Co. Clare.
Dist/Time: 6km./1.5hours - 2 hours
Requiring a medium level of fitness, these walks are ideal for leisure walkers, families, school field trips and those who are on a short visit to the area.
Minimum gear required - Sturdy walking boots, waterproofs, rucksack, fluid, snacks, mobile phone.
